Embedded senior expertise for technical architecture in complex systems

Working with Partner Organizations

CDDS AB works with organizations that regularly undertake multi-month engagements requiring senior technical and architectural expertise. This page is intended for boutique consultancies, system integrators, and product companies looking for a senior technical counterpart for complex, multi-month engagements.

The model is not staffing, not body leasing, and not traditional consulting. We contribute senior technical expertise – embedded in existing structures, with defined scope and a foreseeable end.

When collaboration makes sense

  • The engagement requires senior technical decision-making capability, not just implementation capacity.
  • The role should be embedded in existing structures, not advising from outside.
  • The context involves existing delivery constraints, platform boundaries, or limited technical decision-making capability.
  • Duration is three to twelve months. Shorter engagements are not offered.
  • Contracting is through your organization, not through the end client.

When collaboration does not make sense

  • Short-term capacity extension or hourly availability.
  • Staffing requests without content responsibility.
  • Roles without decision authority or room for initiative.
  • Mandates without defined scope or foreseeable end.
  • Permanent positions or open-ended full-time roles.

Engagement Lifecycle

Fit: Brief conversation for mutual assessment. No pitch, no presentation – an alignment on whether context and working model match.

Scoping: Definition of scope, role, and expectations. Risks are identified early and integrated into planning. No commitments that need later correction.

Embedding: Work within existing structures. Technical contribution here means: contributing to decisions, framing and addressing problems, not just documenting them.

Handover: The goal is to leave behind structures that function without external dependency. The engagement ends once technical ownership can be carried internally.

Typical problem spaces

Delivery structures that no longer fit team size or product complexity. Responsibilities that are unclearly distributed. Decisions that are postponed because no one wants to own them.

Platform ownership without clear governance. Knowledge bound to individuals. Processes that work but are not documented or transferable.

Transitional phases where existing structures no longer hold but new ones are not yet established. Such situations cannot be solved through additional implementation capacity or staffing increases alone.

Engagement model

Duration: Three to twelve months. Shorter engagements are not offered.

Capacity: Focused part-time, typically 50–80%. No permanent full-time presence.

Location: Primarily remote. On-site visits targeted and planned in advance.

Contracting: Through your organization. CDDS does not work directly for end clients.

Regional contexts

For Swiss consultancies and system integrators, there is a separate page with specific information on working model and experience contexts.
